Group Therapy
Relationships have a profound effect on our lives; and yet, sometimes there can be limitations within those relationships that inhibit understanding - that cause feelings of isolation. Group therapy can provide support in a communal space where you are able to connect with others grappling with the same adverse feelings, while simultaneously looking for a deeper understanding within. Through connection with others, groups help enhance personal relationships, address feelings of loneliness and isolation, and improve the quality of life.
GRIEF GROUP THERAPY
Grief is often an incredibly lonely experience. Even if we are surrounded by others in our lives, that support is often limited. Although grief is a normal human experience, each person’s grief is subtly different. Group Therapy provides an opportunity for social support from other bereaved individuals who can relate to the struggles of loss, helping you understand your loss and express the many feelings that come with change. The group experience gives you the opportunity to be honest about where you are in your grief, exactly as you are.
All groups are $60 per 75-minute session (if you have been effected by COVID-19, a sliding scale is available), run once a week for 8-10 weeks and range in group size from 6-8 people.
The next open group is a general group starting October 26th and a COVID-Related grief group starting November 2nd.
General.
General grief groups are a space for individuals to connect with others who have lost a loved one through death - parent, sibling, friend, partner, etc.
Specific.
Specific grief groups are a space for individuals to connect with others who are all grieving the loss of a specific family member (for example a parent, a sibling, or a significant other).
.
COVID-Related.
Working through the grief process is difficult whenever we lose someone close, but grieving a COVID-related death can be even more complex. COVID-related grief groups are for those who have lost a family member to COVID-19.
Some things cannot be fixed; they can only be carried.
